Ajia Clark is a Singer/Songwriter from Colorado who decided in 2007 after being a backup singer to embark on a solo singing career. Although her roots are firmly placed in Rhythm and Blues, she draws inspiration from many different musical influences such as; Etta James, Jill Scott, Tina Turner, Nina Simone, Anita Baker, Ella Fitzgerald and Lauryn Hill.

"Having grown up in a musical family with all those different genres it influenced the Singer/Songwriter I am today."

She has been receiving a ton of compliments in the indie music scene... "My style is genuine....I can write what I mean, and mean what I sing, and each song will be completely different and I'll be wondering...How did I do that? Where did that come from?"

It is this versatility that helped develop the songs "Soul Train" and "Ooo La La", two soulful selections that are causing all the buzz about the "young singer with an organic soulful sound that is so now."

Ajia's songwriting started to develop through her poetry which she started writing at the age of ten; "I used poetry as my "mental out" I never thought it would help make me the writer I am today." However, it wasn't until moving to Nashville TN in 2005, that she decided to seriously pursue her love for music as her life career.

"I started becoming more and more involved in the live music scene through friends who are some of the most phenomenally talented musicians that currently perform around Nashville. All of a sudden, people started asking "Who's the new girl with the old school sound?"

Ajia is writing and recording the highly anticipated debut album entitled "Finally Ajia" Based on the reception of her already released singles the future looks very promising!
